Pilcher (52B) highlighted an Obituary in ‘The Times’ dated 23rd. January 2017 for
Major John Sim MC. It contained the
following snippet of news, ‘he completed his service at the Army Apprentice College
at Arborfield’. A search for more information revealed the inspiring story of
a special man, typical of those who were handpicked to take on the
responsibilities of the welfare and training of the young Army Apprentices of
Arborfield. Along with the Obituary, a page was found on
the ‘Pegasus Archive’ web site which set out the action in which Captain John
