Alice Murphy: Times Past, 35 Years Ago. Source: Wokingham Times © A photo from 1957 shows Major P.C. Stocker, The Rifle Brigade,
interviewing A/T Thomas Basare (57A), a new arrival from the Gold Coast,
joining H.Q. Company. Major Stocker assumed command of the company on the
25th of February 1952, taking over from Major N.D. Charrington of the Xth
Hussars. His mode of private transport attracted a great deal of attention
being a very stylish Triumph 2000 Roadster, complete with ‘dickey’ seat. His
constant companion was a very large Golden Retriever. © Source of the photograph is the BBC. Local News for Berkshire. Below is one example of the many official documents we have on site which
are available from HERE. This slip was sent to parents and refers to the change of
command for H.Q. Company as detailed in the text below the photo. First Published: 6th August 2003. Latest Update: 1st December 2012. |
