of Dedication. |

|
|
Sunday dawned to brilliant
sunshine and a clear blue sky, which was a great relief to all in view of the
very wet summer. The service had four elements: the
dedication of the Hadrian Old Boys Standard, the blessing of the ComTabs, the
dedication and unveiling of the lectern, and the entombment of the Rolls of
Honour. The service began at midday
with 100+ people present. The pre-service briefing proved well founded as the
service went without a hitch. For the occasion, the Trustees had ordered the
services of the NMA Bugler (Ex-Royal Marine) who added élan and panache to
our service, because he was in full Royal Marine Regalia, in that he joined
us directly after another dedication service that had started at eleven am. The sunshine, the bright
colours of the HOB Standard and Union Jacks, the commanding presence of the
Bugler, added gravitas to the occasion and made for a very moving ceremony. Finally, Max Warwick was the
official Photographer, with Barry and Mary Hunter recording the event on
