My father, Brian
R. Charlwood, was at the Arborfield Army Technical School. I understand that he served at Scapa Flow
in the Orkneys alongside the Royal Artillery, Kenya, Egypt (where I was
born), Singapore, Stirling Castle and Malaya before leaving the army with the
rank of Warrant Officer First Class on the 28th of September 1960. He left during the army cutbacks under
GR1955 Para. 503 xxv1. In Egypt he was
involved in refrigeration and air conditioning, boarding ships in the Suez
Canal to fix the faults. He also spent time
at Arborfield as an instructor. ____________________________________________________________________________________ |
