Editor’s Note. The photos are ‘of the time’ which means that they are 3.75”
x 2.5”. Enlarging them does mean
some of the detail is not very sharp but they still give a good look at
some fascinating local history.
There are plenty of photos of the Roman cities in the Libyan article
but this Berber scenery is very different.

An extended
recreational excursion, destination unrecorded.

Land Rover and Bedford
RL combo. Possibly supplied by No.1
Coy. R.A.S.C.

Location unknown but
there appears to be a cross atop the tower rather than the crescent usually
seen.
|
|
|
Another unknown town with
a varied skyline.

|
|
And again.
|
|
|
Looking across a valley to an unknown
township clinging to a steep hillside.
The white structure in the foreground could well be the cap on a
cistern where water was stored for the local animals.

Members of a local family
eyeing up the strangers in the area.
|
|
|
Possibly a young
entrepreneur with goods to sell, or a member doing the shopping for his
family.

Approach with caution. A warm, friendly, cuddly pyard puppy. A
few months later and it would be courting danger getting too close to
it. They had a feral ‘guard dog’
mentality built into them and would take great delight in sinking their
teeth into anybody who crossed their path.

|
|
Probably eyeing up his
next meal.
