For the fifth time the annual A.O.B.A. Reunion took
place at the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas
in Staffordshire. That these reunions
take place at all is down to the hard work of our committee of volunteers,
who put in many hours and much effort.
A sincere vote of thanks to them. Unfortunately, my visit was somewhat curtailed by
unfair wear and tear so the events of Friday and Saturday evenings are
covered by our ‘September 49er’ Max Warwick.

Friday, the gathering in.
|
The accommodation this year was once again at the Jurys
Hinckley Island 4 star hotel in Leicestershire. The weather in the lead up to the event
seemed set fair but, remembering the vagaries which beset the previous
reunions, fingers and everything else were tightly crossed.
