Sunday
Relaxing with friends on Sunday morning, very reminiscent of the old
Free Sunday, was an opportunity to look back over the events of the
reunion. Those of us who are lucky enough to attend owe a great debt of
gratitude to our AOBA Committee who make things happen for us. The reunion
doesn’t just appear overnight, and no doubt they are already talking about
the next do in 2010, which is likely to be on home ground again, but with
everything up in the air is not guaranteed. Thanks are also due to those
who make the event work from the coal face. Members of the Sgts mess were
up front with all the help we needed to make it such a success.
Turnout was good this year, possibly because of the previous news
that it would be the last in Rowcroft. It is to
be hoped that we don’t fade away over the next few years.
As we took our leave and set off for home it was with the hope that
we would be back next year.
