ARBORFIELD - Friday 18th to Sunday 20th June 2004 inclusive

The following report & photographs contributed by Trevor STUBBERFIELD (52A)

Foreword

The deed is done; the Gates of the Arborfield Army Apprentices’ School have been closed behind us for the last time.  To those old friends who attended the Reunion, it was my pleasure to meet up with you once again.  You will be the lucky ones who will have personal memories of the fateful day.  To those who couldn't be with us, as promised you were in our thoughts.  I have one or two, or perhaps more, photos which may convey some of the occasion to you.  With a few words in addition I might be able to share with you some of my feelings and give you a taste of the way in which we finished 65 years of the School's history on that site.  Bear in mind that approximately 450 turned up with 350 sitting down to the dinner - quite some turnout.

Acknowledgement

Many, many thanks to George Millie - he offered to put all this on his website before he really knew what he was getting.  A very brave man.  He's tidied it up, put it in order with the photos in the right place, and devoted a great deal of space to it.  All we want now is someone to read it.
