R.E.M.E. CORPS
WEEKEND 2009 Corps Open Day,

The open day was held in the Arborfield Garrison and was a showcase of life in today’s
modern army, and the role that R.E.M.E. plays in it. Technical training
facilities and equipment were all on view, as were up to date vehicles
alongside those of an earlier era. The arena was used for a large number of
displays and competitions with no time lost between events. Every
recreational activity section was represented by their own displays and
personnel who were very willing to talk about their interests. Perhaps the
most striking feature was that it was a true family day with the kids having
a ball, swarming over and into everything. The olden day veterans were
catered for by displays of days gone by activities with a young lady belting
out songs of the 40s era in the main arena. All in all, a great day out. A
few of the program pages are reproduced below. |
